Dr Jerry Joshua, Head of TLMTI’s healthcare programme is responsible for its 14 hospitals and support to Government of India’s National Leprosy Eradication Programme (NLEP) in four states. He has over 25 years of experience in clinical leprosy. As a plastic surgeon, Jerry has trained and mentored surgeons in the government, NGO and private sectors in surgery related to leprosy and other disabilities. He has contributed to several leprosy textbooks and research journals. Jerry’s areas of expertise include prevention and management of disability and physical rehabilitation. He is a member of the working group on disease and disability management in neglected tropical diseases (NTDs).
We work with individuals and communities disadvantaged by leprosy, irrespective of caste, creed and religion, by addressing their physical, mental, social and spiritual needs to uphold human dignity and eradicate leprosy.
